Diversified product types: We design and manufacture plastic injection molds, including auto parts molds, household products molds, industrial product molds, crate molds, plastic container molds, pallet molds, etc.

Longer service life: Precision design and high-strength raw materials make the mold have a long service life. For example, the service life of Plastic Bumper Mold can reach up to about 300000- 500,000 shots.

Advantages Of Plastic Bumper Injection Moulding

1. Saving Material

Compared with the conventional injection moulding process, it only requires 70% to 80% of the plastic material.

2. Creating Smooth Surfaces

It can improve the strength and stiffness of parts and eliminate dents in finished products.

3. Reducing Warping Deformation

To prevent dents and shrinkage, bumper injection moulding pressurizes the exterior of the finished product. As a result, the finished product's internal tension won't increase and the warpage deformation issue can be reduced.

4. Reducing Cost

Due to the reduction of wall thickness, the total weight of the finished parts of parts is reduced.

Due to the reduction of mould locking power and injection moulding pressure, the cost of energy consumption is reduced.

Due to the integration of parts, the assembly cost is reduced.

Due to the low injection pressure, the mould locking pressure of the injection moulding machine can be reduced, and the injection moulding machine with a small tonnage can be used. Also, the cost of manufacturing is reduced, and the loss of the mould is reduced, thereby reducing the maintenance cost.

5. Reducing Cycle Time

It can save the finished product time before it reaches the market since the pressure holding technique was modified, which reduced the injection moulding cycle time. In most cases, this will lead to increased product production and increased productivity as a whole.

Customization Moulds Precautions

Before injection moulding can begin, manufacturers need to create custom moulds for their products, solving the basic problem of how to make plastic moulds. This process mainly considers four factors:

  1. Design: First to consider the size, dimensions and complexity of the product.
  2. Quantity: It matters how many parts you plan to make. The mould may make many items at once and have multiple cavities for the basic product. Moulds can be produced using more pliable, perhaps more expensive materials for high-volume production or lighter, less expensive materials for low-volume orders.
  3. Material: Depending on the plastic or resin chosen for the product, the mould will require specific design features.
  4. Budget: Consider the total budget available for the mould, this will determine the quality of the mold material and whether it will be for a single part or a multi-unit mold.

High Quality Plastic Bumper Injection Mould Applications

There are many applications for gas-assisted injection moulding, including:

  • Automobiles: seat backs, door panels, steering wheel, and instrument panels that are lightweight.
  • Consumer goods: toys, basketball racks, appliance parts, and furniture items like chair backs.
  • Aerospace: interior panels, seat frames, and air ducts.
  • Electronics: cases, housings, and supporting elements.
  • Industrial equipment: handles, and enclosures.
  • Protective cover: the majority of the plastic casings on devices like laptops, eyewear, and medical gear.

Materials For Plastic Bumper Injection Moulding

1. Polypropylene (PP)

Polypropylene, a thermoplastic material, has a high melting point, good hardness, poor electrical conductivity, and good chemical resistance. PP is useful in electrical and electronic components due to its low electrical conductivity. Additionally, the moulds of food industry use it frequently because this material meets safety standards.

2. Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS)

ABS is useful for a variety of applications thanks to its combination of strength, toughness, and lightness. Due to its ability to withstand sudden forces without breaking, ABS with impact-resistant is useful in a number of daily object mould, including automotive parts, protective cases, household appliance parts, and more.

Injection Mould Surface Finishes

The injection mould cavity surface treatment methods mainly include sandblasting process, polishing process, chemical etching process, electroplating process and spark pattern treatment process. In order to achieve different surface effects of plastic parts, we can perform special processing on the surface of the injection mould cavity.

1.Sandblasting process

Definition: A process in which quartz sand is sprayed onto the surface of the injection mould cavity at high speed through air compression to form a layer of frosted surface.

Application scenario: It can achieve the effect of rough or textured surface treatment. The surface of sandblasting process is easier to wear off, so it is suitable for some injection moulds with low surface requirements.

2. Polishing process

Definition: A process that reduces the surface roughness of a workpiece through mechanical, chemical or electrochemical effects to obtain a bright surface.

Application scenario: Polishing can reduce the roughness and surface defects of the injection mould surface, and can also improve the hardness and wear resistance of the mould surface, extending the service life of the mould. For moulds with high surface requirements, the super-precision grinding and polishing process can be used.

3. Chemical etching process

Definition: Chemicals such as concentrated sulfuric acid are used to corrode the inside of plastic moulding moulds to form textures in the form of snake patterns, etching patterns, plowing, etc., which have good visual effects and feel.

Application scenarios: It can be used to create various injection mould textures, the more common ones include leather textures, wood textures, cloth textures and patterns, etc.

4. Electroplating process

Definition: A process that uses electrolysis to form a metal layer with good bonding force on the surface of the injection mould cavity.

Application scenario: It can improve the surface hardness and smoothness of the injection mould cavity, and is suitable for injection moulded products that require metal effect surfaces.

5. Spark pattern treatment process

Definition: A surface treatment process that uses electric spark machining to produce texture in the injection mould cavity by adjusting the current. The currently more commonly used spark pattern standard is VD13400.

Application scenario: The spark pattern is relatively clear and the surface texture is good. It is more suitable for injection moulded products with higher requirements.
